In an effort to improve the living conditions of the farm people of Utica and the state of Mississippi, Dr. William Holtzclaw instituted an annual farmers' conference which brought together knowledgeable and successful farm leaders with local farmers. The Annual Farmers' Conference contains the programs, speeches, and misc. materials of the conferences between 1952 and 1964.

Utica Junior College (UJC) was founded in 1903 as Utica Normal and Industrial Institute. It is the oldest of the six campuses of the Hinds Community College District (HCCD). UJC merged with the HCCD in 1982 but retains its Historically Black College & University (HBCU) designation and traditions. As such, it maintains its annual yearbook entitled The Uticanite first published in 1956.
